Privacy Policy — VGC Champions Assistant

Last updated: 17 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the VGC Champions Assistant mobile app (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles, and how. The App is an offline-first companion tool for the Pokémon Champions video game. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, or Game Freak.

Summary

The App is built to work offline. Almost everything you do — building teams, running damage calculations, changing settings — stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. The App does not have user accounts, does not show ads, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Information leaves your device in only three situations, described below: purchasing the one-time Premium unlock, voluntarily sending a bug report, and automatic crash & error reports that help us find and fix problems.

Information stored only on your device

The following is saved locally on your device (using the operating system’s standard app storage) and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:

You can remove this data at any time by deleting the App, which clears all of its local storage.

Purchases (Premium unlock)

The App offers a single, one-time in-app purchase that unlocks Premium features. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and by our payments provider, RevenueCat, Inc., which manages purchase validation and restoration.

To provide and restore your purchase, RevenueCat processes:

We do not receive your name, your payment card details, or any other billing information — those are handled solely by Apple or Google. We use purchase data only to deliver the features you bought and to let you restore them on your devices. RevenueCat’s handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

Bug reports (optional)

If you choose to send a bug report from within the App, the report you submit includes:

Bug reports are sent to a private document in our Google account. We use them only to diagnose and fix problems. We do not use any email you provide for marketing. Bug reports are sent only when you actively submit one; the App does not send reports automatically.

Crash and error reporting

To find and fix problems, the App uses Sentry (operated by Functional Software, Inc., dba Sentry) to report crashes and errors. Unlike a bug report, these are sent automatically when something goes wrong — you don’t have to do anything.

A crash or error report includes:

We have deliberately configured Sentry to be privacy-minimal:

Sentry processes this data on our behalf (in the United States) solely so we can diagnose and fix bugs. Sentry’s handling of data is governed by its own privacy policy: https://sentry.io/privacy/.

What we do not collect

Data retention

Locally stored data remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat and the app stores for as long as needed to support purchase restoration and as required by law. Bug reports are retained until we no longer need them to address the issue. Crash and error reports are retained by Sentry for a limited period (by default, up to 90 days) and are then automatically deleted.

Children’s privacy

The App is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
